Welcome to our website! If there is anything you feel we are missing or something you would like to see on the website, by all means contact us, either by calling the Library or e-mailing Michele.

Please join us in wishing fellow group member Mary a speedy recovery!

COMING SOON:

This Fall we are planning to hold a series of workshops during our regular meeting time. This will give everyone an opportunity to learn something new or increase their knowledge of a particular subject or technique, and be able to start and finish a project. Some topics we discussed were: sock knitting, crochet rug-making, fair isle and intarsia, and basic knitting cast-on and cast-off. If there is something you would like to learn please call Michele at the Library or e-mail her. We want to make it fun for everyone! Look for it in the Library newsletter and hopefully in the local newspapers.

ABOUT US:

The Town of Esopus Library Needlework Group is comprised of knitters, crocheters, rug hookers, stitchers of all types, and we welcome any type of needleworker to our meetings. Membership is free, and anyone can casually drop in whenever they like. All skill levels are represented, and if a beginner needs help, we will try our best to help them. We also have a nice supply of yarn and knitting needles for those who don't yet have supplies but would like to give knitting or crocheting a try!

We have been an active group since 2003, and have enjoyed each other's company while we sit and knit, spin, crochet, hook rugs, embroider, needlepoint or cross-stitch. We have a wonderful time talking and laughing while we work: we show and tell what we've been working on and share techniques, books, patterns, stories, etc.

On occasion we take field trips: we carpool to visit local yarn shops and farms, or wherever we would like to go. Each year members create and donate items which are sold during the Library's "Holiday Boutique" in December. All proceeds benefit the Library, and are used to buy books, DVDs and other items that we feel the Library should own (suggestions welcome!).

We meet each Monday at 1:00pm downstairs at the Library. We do not meet when the Library is closed for holidays or weather-related reasons. We welcome all newcomers to our group, so don't be shy–we'd love to have you! If you have any questions, call Michele DelPriore at the Library at 845-338-5580, or e-mail her at micdelp@gmail.com.
